ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born in 1936 In Tanzania where my father migrated from India. I have always had the desire to draw and paint as long as I can remember and I always found time to draw since kindergarten to present day. After graduating from high school in Mumbai I wanted to attend J.J.School of Art in Mumbai but, as luck would have it, I was presented with an opportunity to come to United States. For that I had to choose any technical field of education, other that art. I chose Mechanical Engineering. During my college years and working as mechanical engineer I kept painting whenever I found time.
Now retired in 2005 and living in Corona, CA, I am pursuing my interest in painting as professional artist. I am a member of Corona Art Association and Riverside Art Museum. I participate in art fairs and shows whenever possible. I also have interest in gardening, photography, and music. I like to paint in all medium and all types of subject. But I my favorite subject is portraits. Portraits are done in pastels, oil and acrylic.
